Amiral Battı'nın kuralları basittir:
Tabloda bulunan gizli gemileri bulmanız gerekmektedir. Bazı gemiler kısmen açığa çıkmıştır.
Bir savaş gemisi, ardışık siyah hücrelerin oluşturduğu düz bir çizgiden oluşur.
Oyun tablosunun altında, her büyüklükte gemisinden kaç tane olduğu gösterilmektedir.
2 gemi birbirine dokunamaz. (çapraz olsa bile)
Tablonun dışındaki sayılar, o sırada ya da sütunda kaç tane hücrenin dolu olduğunu gösterir.
